Recently into the store is this 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom with silverburst finish. Purchased from the original owner, it is a sweet-playing Les Paul — among the best-playing electric guitars that any of us in the shop have encountered.

The tip for the pickup selector is a replacement. However, the original is retained and included in the case. Strap buttons were replaced with strap locks by the original owner, but otherwise everything on the instrument appears to be original.

The gallery below contains photos that document the condition of the instrument, including photos of the pots. We have not yet removed the pickups, but we understand them to be original and are without reason to believe otherwise.

Blemishes are as one might anticipate for a guitar played since 1979, though not nearly as much as other instruments of a similar vintage. Pricing is in the vicinity of $8,500 and includes the original hard shell case.
